The Westchester Symphonic Winds exists to serve the musical aspirations of its membership by performing in an atmosphere geared towards excellence. Our goals include providing Westchester County and surrounding area residents and members of the general public with the opportunity to hear the finest wind band literature, as well as to promote appreciation of this exciting music in student musician circles.
The ensemble currently rehearses and performs at the Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, New York. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings.
All aspects of rehearsal and performance are approached in a professional manner. With its diversified and skilled membership, WSW collects modest dues from its members, while covering some operating expenses through ticket sales, public and private contributions and benefit concerts. Contributions and other assistance are essential and always welcome.
WSW is a Section 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit corporation.
Membership qualification is determined through an audition process and is open to all qualified instrumentalists. The ensemble does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability, national origin, sexual orientation or any other basis covered by law.
